International Biology Olympiad in Vilnius: first time in Lithuania

The 37th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) closed in Vilnius on 18 July 2026. It was held in Lithuania for the first time and brought together more than 300 secondary school students from 78 countries. In total 185 medals were awarded (33 gold, 60 silver and 92 bronze), and all four members of the Lithuanian team won a medal. Many of our members organise their national olympiad rounds and select the teams. The 38th IBO takes place in Warsaw in July 2027. Vilnius University
