Norsk Biologforening
Norsk Biologforening is the Norwegian association for biologists and others with a strong interest in biology, nature and biological knowledge. It provides a professional and public platform for biological expertise and communication.
The association promotes biology in society, supports networks and activities for biologists, and contributes to the dissemination of biological knowledge and discussion of issues related to nature, biodiversity and the life sciences.
Aims and activities
The association, founded in 1981, strengthens academic cohesion and contact between Norwegian biologists, works for the professional interests of biologists, promotes biology in schools and stimulates the use of biological knowledge in social planning. It also establishes contact with foreign biologists and their organisations.
It organises the annual BIO conference, produces the podcast Biopodden and the “Ask a biologist” service, awards the Bonnevie Prize and publishes the journal Biolog.
