Cyprus Biological Society (CBS)

The Cyprus Biological Society (CBS) promotes biology and supports the professional and scientific community of biologists in Cyprus. The Society provides a platform for communication, professional development, scientific exchange and activities that strengthen biological education and public understanding of the life sciences.

CBS brings together qualified biologists and others with a professional connection to the biological sciences, and contributes to cooperation between Cypriot biologists and the wider European biological community.

Activities

CBS organises the Cyprus Biology Olympiads in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, including the Theophrastos and Aristotelis competitions and the selection for international competitions such as the IJSO, EUSO and IBO.

The Society also offers training sessions and scientific workshops, career guidance for biology professionals, and represents Cypriot biology internationally. It maintains links with international bodies including FEBS and ECBA.
